Grit

Annie is a Patches/Smut daughter.  Patches was known for her power and calm quiet control of livestock her nickname was 'Patches the Wonder Dog'.  Smut is out of Ken Arrendale's Mactavish "Mac", known for his stock handling ability and his power.

Grit is a double bred Smut grandson. His dam Graceway Mercy (Smut daughter) is an excellent worker showing lots of power both on the farm, and the trial field. His sire Graceway Dream (Smut son) is a working farm dog that is a great companion and hard worker, biddable and obedient.

These young dogs have wonderful work ethic and excellent stock handling ability.  Both dogs are biddable as well as easy to train.  These dogs like to be with you, want to please, and they work on the farm doing chores easily. They work both cattle and sheep.  The litter is bred for trial or farm work, and with sound minds and exceptional working ability, they'll do it all.

Our dogs are a part of the family. They are a way of life, always around to train, breed and trial. It is because of our love of the dog and our devotion to the breed we are very particular in the homes that our pups go to. We breed both for farm work and for trialing with these characteristics in mind: Intelligence, bidability, and a powerful work ethic. With the final purpose in our breed program to be to uphold and preserve the working Border Collie.

At Away2Me farm, our dogs are brought up with a solid foundation. From the time they are small pups, they are well socialized and expected to be well mannered. They are trained with patience and understanding but with a firm hand.
